Escuela de Guadalupe has earned an overall A+ grade from Niche and has been named one of Niche’s 2027 Best Schools.

What is Niche?

Niche is a free school search website with a profile for every K-12 school in the United States. Parents use it to compare schools side by side, read reviews from other families, and look at letter grades in areas like academics and teachers. According to the company, more than 22 million families research K-12 education on Niche each year.

In Niche’s 2025 survey of parents, 87% of families said they check Niche or another review site before they ever visit or call a school, and 44% said they use Niche when making their final decision. When a family new to Denver searches for a dual-language school, or a parent starts to wonder whether a Catholic education is right for their child, there’s a good chance the search starts there.

Niche released its 2027 Best Schools rankings on September 28, covering more than 30,000 private schools and 93,000 public schools nationwide.

How the grade is calculated

Niche builds its grades from data published by the U.S. Department of Education, information from accrediting agencies, and reviews written by parents and students. Each factor carries a published weight, so anyone can see exactly how a grade comes together.

For private K-8 schools like Escuela, the largest single factor is what families say. Parent and student ratings of their overall experience make up 63% of the overall grade. The remainder comes from Niche’s academics grade (13%), teachers grade (8%), culture and diversity grade (8%), and a new accreditation score (8%) that looks at whether a school has been reviewed by an independent accrediting body. Niche’s reasoning is that at the elementary and middle school level, community, safety, and belonging matter to families as much as test data does.

Escuela received an A+ in both academics and teachers, and our accreditation through the Association of Colorado Independent Schools counts toward the new score. But the biggest share of this A+ came from our parents.

What our families are saying

Escuela holds an average rating of 4.8 out of 5 across 32 parent reviews on Niche, written in both English and Spanish. A few themes come up again and again.

Spanish is coming home. “It is incredible to hear her already using Spanish at home!” wrote the parent of a Pre-K student. Another mother noticed the same thing with her daughter, saying it shows her how much she is learning and growing.

High expectations, with support. One parent called the academics “rigorous yet very doable” and said of their son, “He has learned that he can do hard things.” Another was candid that the bar is high even in Pre-K, and that the structure has helped her daughter grow more confident and independent.

Faith woven into the day. Several families mention daily lessons shaped by Catholic teaching, along with school Mass, prayer, and service.

Teachers who know each child. Parents describe teachers as kind, patient, and invested in each student. One mother wrote that she is “constantly reminded of how lucky we are” to send her children to Escuela.
